![]() I.C.E. In Case of EmergencyFriday, 8 January 2010 We are often asked where our name comes from and is it to do with little biscuits? No, it has nothing to do with traditional little biscuits despite them being one of my favourites as a kid! ICE is short for In Case of Emergency. In the aftermath of the July 7th London Bombs there was a huge internet campaign for people to put ICE into their phones so that paramedics and police could easily locate next of kin. This remains the phrase most widely looked for by paramedics in case of emergency. Gems obviously came about because of the jewellery. Put them both together and ICE Gems really does some up what we are about - medical alert or emergency alert jewellery! So there you have it! Mystery solved ...
